Remote Learning
Pupils may be absent from school because the school has closed due to an unforeseen incident, such as extreme weather conditions, heating or water issues.
For the above reasons, we have chosen to use provisions from Oak National Academy for when pupils require remote learning. This is high quality and has carefully selected lessons which complement our curriculum and will be relevant and supportive to each pupil, regardless of the learning happening in class whilst they are absent.
Class teachers are best placed to support pupils to catch up on anything they have missed, once they return. The lessons provided for pupils at home in the meantime will support learning more broadly, as they incorporate life-long learning skills. In addition, pupils can access learning through the following: Google Classroom, Purple Mash, Times Tables Rock Stars, Oxford Reading Buddy and Floppy's Phonics. Daily reading is of equal importance and should be continued regardless of any other task set.
